What is made to order?
Made to order is the process of making clothes only when they are ordered. This process allows us to reduce overproduction, remain size inclusive, and create quality and unique pieces just for you.
How long will it take for my item to be made and shipped?
Most orders take 3-4 weeks to be made and shipped. Please refer to the item’s description for production times. Once your order is ready, you will receive an email with tracking information.
I have an upcoming trip, can you make me an item in time?
If you would like to request an item by a certain date, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will do my best to accommodate your request.
What are ready to ship items?
These are select items that have already been made and will be ready to ship within 3-5 business days. These items will be located under the ready to ship section.
Where do you make your garments?
All pieces are designed and made by me, Akia Nicole in my studio in Atlanta, GA.
How do I order?
If the website says sold out of everything, it means that we are currently at capacity. As a made to order brand, we can only accept a certain amount of orders at any given time.
If you want to know when the shop will reopen, please join our email list and follow us on social media for updates. Once the shop reopens, you will be able to purchase your favorite pieces.
How many pieces do you make of each style?
Most of our items are made in limited quantities based on the amount of fabric we are able to source. If you see something that you love, go ahead and purchase it because there is a good chance it will not be restocked.
How should I care for my Akia Nicole garments?
In order to extend the life of your garments, please check your item’s individual care label for specific instructions. Generally, you can hand wash or machine wash cold on delicate and lay flat to dry. Please do not tumble dry or bleach your garments.
How do I know what size to order?
Please refer to the sizing guide page. If standard sizing doesn’t quite work for you, you also have the option to choose custom sizing. If selecting custom sizing, please leave your measurements in the notes section at checkout.
Do you offer plus size?
Yes! Since we are a made to order brand, we are able to cater to all sizes. Please refer to the size chart to find your size. If standard sizing doesn’t work for you please select custom size and leave your measurements in the notes section at checkout.
How do I give you a custom size?
For custom measurements please measure yourself, choose the ‘custom size’ option on the item you would like to purchase, and leave your custom measurements in the notes section at checkout. Please refer to the sizing guide for more information on how to do this.
Why does custom sizing cost more?
Custom sizing requires some additional work in order to ensure that your piece is tailored to you. Due to the added labor, custom sizing will require an additional fee.
Do you accept custom orders (i.e. pieces not shown on the website)?
Yes, I do accept custom orders. Please email me at email@example.com with the subject line: Custom Order Request to start the process.
Can I order a piece in another fabric?
We only use the fabrics that we have on hand. If you see another fabric you like on the website and would like to get a piece made in that please email firstname.lastname@example.org before ordering. We will then see if we have enough stock of this fabric to make the piece that you are requesting.
If this is possible, you will receive an email confirming that we can accommodate your request. You can then order the piece you want and specify what fabric you would like in the notes sections at checkout.
Can I return my order?
Since all of our items are made to order just for you we do not offer returns. However, if you are not satisfied with your pieces we do offer exchanges and free alterations. If there is a problem with your order, please email email@example.com within 14 days of receiving your package. For more information, please refer to our returns page.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes, we do ship worldwide. The shipping fees will automatically be calculated at checkout once you have entered your shipping address.
